Some Tips when running trails in Cape Town:
- Always run/hike in groups. Even though SANPARKS and Friends of Table Mountain do their best to be visible on the mountains, there is a big area to cover, and they can't be everywhere.
- Make sure to take enough water and food with you. In the winter, there is plenty of fresh mountain water, but it disappears once summer starts.
- Don’t forget to have fun and enjoy the moment.
Cape Town truly is a trail runner's dream, offering a stunning array of routes catering to all experience levels. From the easy-going Pipe Track with its breathtaking views of Camps Bay to the exhilarating challenge of the Missing Link loop, there's something for everyone in this vibrant city.
Each trail provides a workout and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty surrounding you. As you lace up your shoes and explore these diverse landscapes, remember to prioritize safety by running in groups, staying hydrated, and fuelling your body for the adventure ahead.
Most importantly, take a moment to relish the journey. Whether you’re catching a sunset from the Pipe Track or conquering the peaks of Lion's Head, each step is a chance to connect with the awe-inspiring environment that makes Cape Town such a remarkable destination for trail running.
So, get out there, embrace the trails, and let the beauty of Cape Town inspire your next adventure!
