OVERVIEW

The Burnt Out 100 is a 100km relay race set in the Tankwa Karoo. Teams must complete a distance of 100km or more following the Burnt Out 100 Strava segment, starting and ending at Da’ Doer Padstal. Teams of 4 people, with solo runs allowed. Teams can divide the race as they wish, with each member not required to complete the same distance.

FINISH REQUIREMENTS

When reaching the finish line, teams must scan the Burnt Out 100 golden plaque at the Da’ Doer Padstal. This final step is essential for officially submitting the team's race results and includes providing specific details such as date, team names, time, and a Strava link of their route.

TEAM WATCHES

Teams must use 1 team Garmin or smartwatch passed on at each transition. This ensures accurate tracking of each team's progress throughout the race. By utilizing a single device for the team, it simplifies the recording process and maintains consistency in tracking data.

TIME KEEPING

During transitions or resting periods, athletes cannot pause or stop their watches. This rule ensures that the recorded time reflects the continuous effort of the team throughout the race. It promotes fairness by preventing teams from manipulating their recorded time through pausing during breaks. Do not stop your watch on 100km if the segment has not been completed. The race distance generally ends on +-101km.
