Delete your Burnt Studios Account

This page explains how to delete your Burnt Studios account, used on burnt.co.za and in the Burnt Studios app, or how to delete only some of your data.

Option 1: Delete your whole account

You can delete your account in any of these ways:

  • On this page: log in and use Delete my account at the bottom of this page.
  • In the app: Account › your name › Delete account.
  • By email: if you can't do either, email info@burnt.co.za from the email address linked to your account, with the subject line "Delete my account" and your full name. We'll confirm your identity and delete your account within 30 days.

How long it takes

  • If you've never placed an order, your account is deleted straight away.
  • If you've placed orders, your account is deleted within 10 days. You can't use your account during that time, but you can change your mind: log in here or in the app and tap Cancel deletion. Everything stays as it was.

Whichever way you delete your account, the app and the website stay in step.

What gets deleted

  • Your customer profile: name, email address, phone number, saved addresses, birthdai>
  • Your Burnt Black membership, B-Bucks balance and rewards
  • Your wishlist
  • Your Play While You Wait nickname and scores
  • Your marketing and notification preferences, and your app notification registrations

What we keep, and for how long

  • Order and payment records, which we're required by law to keep for tax and accounting purposes, for up to 5 years. We remove your personal details from them.
  • Anything we need to resolve an open order, return or dispute, until it's settled.

Once it's done, deleting your account can't be undone. Unused B-Bucks and rewards are lost.

Option 2: Delete some of your data and keep your account

Do it yourself in the app

  • Phone number: Account › your name › Edit › clear the phone number › Save
  • Birthday, gender or interests: Account › your name › Edit › tap Clear next to the field, or untick interests › Save
  • Saved addresses: Account › your name › Addresses › tap the address ›
  • Wishlist items: Account › Wishlist › tap the × on an item
  • Notifications in your inbox: Account › Notifications › tap the bin on a notification
  • Marketing emails, WhatsApp or push notifications: Account › your nameoff the ones you don't want
  • Location access: your phone's Settings › Burnt Studios › Location › Never

Ask us to delete other data

  1. Email info@burnt.co.za from the email address linked to your account.
  2. Use the subject line "Delete some of my data".
  3. List what you'd like deleted, for example your Burnt Black history, game scores or the legal retention above).
  4. We'll confirm and complete the request within 30 days.
