Burnt Out 100 2025 Event Burnt Out 100 2025 Event

It’s nearly that time again. Time for our annual Burnt Out 100 Relay Race, and the work for our biggest event of the year is done. This year is bigger than we’ve ever done; Seven teams in total, consisting of six relay teams of four people each, and one solo runner, are currently preparing to take on this brutal challenge. We’re excited to welcome the runners.

Date: 05 July 2025
Location: Tankwa Karoo
Distance: 100km
Cut-off time: 11 hours

The Challenge

The Burnt Out 100 isn’t your typical relay — it’s raw, unpredictable, and designed to break limits. 100 kilometres. One brutal course across the unforgiving terrain of the Karoo Desert. From sunrise miles to late-night grit, teams push through every stage, chasing more than just a finish line. It's about finding that edge, burning past it, and proving that comfort zones were never part of the plan. This is where endurance meets chaos, where speed meets stubbornness — and where the bold show up. Trail Run

This year, all attendees, runners and support crew will be camping out at Da Doer Padstal, in tents from Expedition Glamping. Expect frosty tents, early mornings, and steady paces. Burnt HQ team members will be on site for support, and our nutrition partners at 13Nutrition will be fuelling the athletes every step of the way.

Meet the Teams

Many team applications came through, but only a few made the cut.

Trail Run

Team Dakotas [Burnt Team]

Designers of the Burnt gear. They’re not here for mood boards or drop dates. They’re here to run and run hard. The co-founder, designers, and buyer form a tight unit, ready to back up their pace with purpose.

  • Andriana Cronje — Co-founder & Creative Director
  • Shannah Brown — Senior Fashion Designer
  • Micaela Viljoen — Junior Fashion Designer
  • Bella Kratz — Fashion Buyer

Team Raptors [Burnt Athletes & Partners]

Four road runners swapping tar for trail. They’re not here for scenic views or easy miles. They’ve got the legs, the mindset, and the mileage to back it up. Built for the road. Ready for the wild.

  • Amish Kooverjee
  • Jesse Pretorius
  • Chanel Cronje
  • Jean-Marie Stander

Team Outlaw Ryder [Solo Burnt Athlete]

One man. One mission. One hundred kilometres. Enough said.

  • Henco Visser

Ticket Holder Teams

Team Northern Veld Rangers

Guardians of the veld. Masters of banter. This is 100km of friendship, grit, and discipline. All in pursuit of that cold finish-line draught. Shoes: questionable. Determination: untouchable.

  • Joff Dougall
  • Devin Vincent
  • Noah Ditz
  • Ross Jacobs

Team Coyotes

Banter-fueled, fire-finished.
They’ll be the ones cracking jokes at the start line and grinding it out until the end. Light-hearted? Yes. Light-footed? Even more so.

  • Joné Roberts
  • Kristie Truter
  • Jeanné Roothman
  • Emmarentia Wagner

Team Karoo Kartel

High-caffeine chaos meets high-altitude hustle.
Born in the city, bred in the grind. These four renegades train like outlaws and run like they’ve got somewhere to be. Fast, relentless, and slightly over-caffeinated.

  • Gareth Heidt
  • Jarryd Kuiper
  • Andrew Tainton
  • Zaakir Bhikha

Team Dust Raiders

Over-committed. Under-recovered. Wildcards.
One’s juggling 12 sports. Another is fresh off surgery. There’s a triathlete treating this as recovery and a wildcard who hasn’t run since 2018 but can deadlift a bakkie.
Come race day, they’ll show up, run hard, and call it “just for fun.”

  • Gilad Janet
  • Lior Janet
  • Callum Deeble
  • Jordan Sluzki

Trail Run

It’s going to be brutal.
It’s going to be dusty.
It’s going to be worth it.

Let’s get it.

Stay tuned for race day updates and final results.
